On July 1, 2024, we moved to 217 Commercial Street in Portland.

The last few months of the Spring 2024 session were a bit hectic as we looked for a new place while packing 32 years of books, desks, chairs, and files! It was a difficult decision and one that wasn’t taken lightly.

The place we had called home since early 2018 remained empty from the beginning of the pandemic until the summer of 2023 when we slowly started to reopen in-person classes. That is a long time for a space of that size to be nearly vacant… And when we reopened our doors to the public, not everyone wanted to physically come back. What to do?

The Old Port has been our place of business for 26 of our 32 years in business and that’s where we wanted to stay. We looked for a situation that would allow us to continue to offer you all that you have grown accustomed to, while also putting in place some changes. Hence we proceeded with the move that better reflected our needs.

Our new office address at 217 Commercial Street – Suite 304 (3rd floor) – Portland, 04101 is located closer to the water, across the street from Sapporo, to the left of Stonewall Kitchen and to the right of Mexicali Blues. However, not all our in-person classes will be held here; for instance, in the fall of 2024 and in the upcoming winter 2025 session, our Spanish and German in-person classes will be held at CoworkHers, on Congress Street, which is why we ask that you please read each class description very carefully.

On Commercial Street, our building entrance is equipped with a security code so you will not be able to simply pop in and say hello. We ask that you kindly contact us and make an appointment.

Some of you have already come to class here and if you haven’t yet, we look forward to seeing you soon!
