In this level, you can understand isolated phrases and common expressions that relate to areas of high personal relevance (like personal or family information, shopping, immediate environment, work, etc.). You can communicate during easy or habitual tasks requiring a basic and direct information exchange on familiar subjects. Using simple words, you can describe your surroundings and communicate immediate needs. You have some experience talking about people, places, and events beyond yourself.

In this class we develop our use of the subjunctive mood and continue to practice speaking and writing with more complexity about the past, present and future, as well as speaking about possibilities using the conditional mood. In addressing past events, we use both the passé compose and the imparfait of the indicative mood. We also take on longer, more complex reading and listening tasks, all the while developing our cultural knowledge of the French speaking world.

If you need assistance to determine if this class is right for you, we would be happy to help. Please attend our informational meeting on April 13th or get in touch.
