Book: Grammaire progressive du français, Niveau intermédiaire, 4e édition by Maïa Grégoire and Odile Thiévenaz ISBN: 9781547901050
Instructor: Camille Vande Berg
Price: $243 (early registration) $270 (after 9/12)
Dates: 09/24 – 12/03 – No class on Thanksgiving week, 11/26

In this intermediate-level grammar-oriented course we’ll focus in depth on a single aspect of French.  During the fall 2019 term we’ll study and practice narration in the past.  Specifically, we’ll review the forms of the passé composé, imparfait and plus-que-parfait, we’ll explore the uses of each of the three tenses, and we’ll practice their interaction in extended discourse.  In addition to doing traditional exercises we’ll analyze past-tense use in written and oral texts and create our own written and oral narrations.

The class is of course taught entirely in French and leaves ample time for conversation without straying from its main goal: a thorough grammatical review of one specific aspect of the French language.
