Bastille Day 2021 (Part 2) – Join Us For A Sunset Sail Around Casco Bay!

Home/Local Programs, French, Social Events/Bastille Day 2021 (Part 2) – Join Us For A Sunset Sail Around Casco Bay!

This is part 2 of this year’s Bastille Day celebrations! Please get in touch in case we have a cancellation.

We hope you will also partake in the “Pique-Nique en blanc” on Sunday the 11th but there cannot be too many fun celebrations of our connection to France, the French language, and the wonderful French speaking community we have cherished and cultivated in the Portland area for nearly 30 years!

Join us for a repeat of this traditional Sunset Sail around Casco Bay aboard one of the beautiful ladies of  Portland Schooners! Here are the details:

What: Sunset cruise around Casco Bay around with food, drinks, and the company of Francophones or Francophiles
When: Bastille Day – Wednesday July 14th, 2021, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Should there be a constant, uncomfortable rain, the cruise will be reschedule to a later date but we will have no real control over this new date – it will depend on the schooner’s availability. We will not be able to refund your tickets even if you cannot attend the rescheduled cruise but we will try to get someone else to take your place and offer to refund you at that point.)
Where: We will gather on Maine State Pier from where our sail will start. Be on the pier by 5:45 pm at the latest.
Who can participate: open to all (if you come with Children, they will be counted as regular participants) – on a “first come, first serve” basis. Tickets must be purchased by June 22nd but this deadline might be shortened if we reach our maximum capacity sooner. Sign up early!
Please note that being able to speak French IS NOT a requirement (but of course, encouraged!)
Cost: $35/person – does not include food/drinks. Tickets are non-refundable.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to our scheduled departure. Feel free to bring food and drinks to picnic.

Last but not least, we will assume that you have been fully vaccinated or will be wearing a mask and/or keeping “social distances” at all times to ensure everyone’s safety. However this will be managed entirely on the honor system so we ask kindly that you respect the concerns of those who remain vulnerable due to unrelated health issues.

Thank you!
