This class is designed for students who have never studied German and like all our other German classes, it is taught entirely in German.

Aspects of communication covered in the course: 

Students will learn to introduce themselves and others as well as ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live and where they are from, what they do for work, what their family is like, etc.  They will become familiar with the alphabet and the numbers from 0 to 1.000.000.  They will be able to ask for and give the prices of various items.  They will learn to use a limited number of adjectives to describe objects in the house.  They will hear and understand short conversations on these topics.

Aspects of grammar covered:

The grammatical topics include present tense verb conjugation singular and plural, yes/no - and W- (information) questions, definite articles, personal pronouns (in the subject=nominative case), possessive articles, negation with “nicht”.
